Your Perception Is Your Deception
I was speaking with one of my barbers today and he validates that it’s well to have understanding. I have gone through what he is going through though in a slightly different vein and/or lane. We live in a racist society of our own making and we don’t think we are personally responsible to acknowledge and address it because we are focused on what we see as more important for us personally which is the “job”, career advancement, etc.. I could similarly say the same thing by saying we live in a divided society because underlying racism is a desire to divide. Divide for the purposes of control. This wouldn’t be hard to evidence as we are every much aware of the presence of racism. He lives in Acres Home in Houston, TX and I live in Katy, TX. For those not from Texas, Acres Home is kind of rough neighborhood and Katy, not so much. Your perception is your deception.
Conditioning Blinds or Binds Us to Our Reality
We live in conflict so much within our confines that we often do not see the reason for them being there in the first place. I became aware through my conflict with work that I had accepted things the way they were and contributed to it’s continuance in a subjugated silence. The funny thing is that I can see people are so conditioned that they would actually argue with me on this point. That I’m actually the one being irresponsible by pointing this out. So, I realized I was responsible for creating both a symbol of what is conceived as success and the mental illness that goes with it. A duality of personality of false perceptions as to my actual reality.
Subjugation and Authority Is Control and Not Freedom
I don’t mean to cause trigger of the word, but let’s just say I was not as free as this society deems us to be. The whole model is based on subjugation and authority. This is a model for control where individuals are allowed to abdicate their personal responsibility and allow for higher ups to make and carry out the decisions for society. This is not a model for freedom, though it’s purported to be, and only better in comparison to other models of subjugation by way of the free speech clause.
But who is going to talk about their subjugation when they depend on it for their living? They’ll talk themselves right out of a job. So, it’s more a system of control with money or access to money as the means to buy your silence. Unfortunately, money buys most all our silence because we are not honest with ourselves about the position we are in. So, just let things proceed in an orderly quiet way. People can say a bunch of shit that don’t amount to change, but when you are showing up to a job, you are doing exactly as you are expected to by the system of control. Your actions are more bought into the system of control than you let on to be. As the saying goes,
Action speaks louder than words.
Capitalism Is About Money, but You Missed That Lesson
I don’t think I would speak as honestly and openly about my job being like a slave driver. Nor am I using this analogy to awaken feelings around past forced black subjugation. I think people, myself included, have a great misconception about what this country is based on and, news flash, it’s not freedom! It’s about capitalism and greed and the few controlling the many towards this end. So, so-called Whites, Asians, Indians, Blacks, etc. are all simultaneously working to keep this system going. At one point in time, some whites have been made to believe by capitalist of their day that their dermis holds some sway and/or superiority, but not so much if it interferes with capitalism. They still want their dermis racism which once gave them a huge leg up to count for something, but they are more disgruntled now over the current reality that this doesn’t fly like it did in 1492. Today’s capitalist will move a company to China or Vietnam for profit. They do not give a good got damn about white dermis insecurities which introduce you to a reality that the black dermis has mostly been held in perpetuity. Money rules!
The Darker the Dermis the Deeper the Deception
Many people of the darker dermis are the most misguided of all because we have bought into this system of thinking hook, line, and sinker believing this is how we achieve better treatment. This misguided belief has even more fractured the society because the edicts on which racism was created is now the measure by which we judge ourselves. It’s called a “job” which is very respectable and unfortunately works under the guise of responsibility. I’m said to be being responsible if I go to work and in turn pay all these bills I’ve accrued, send my kids to school and teach them to do the same, except, only strive to do better than I did. This is our reality and if we would only accept this we have a lot better chance of changing it.
In Closing
However, not enough time and energy are invested in doing so because the responsibilities of the “job” are more important. You would be right to assume given the current state of our society a lot of work needs to be done. In my humble opinion, no other work is more important when compared to this. I say that to say, I can and have lived in my dad’s yesterday just fine. So, this activity of future negates what is presently going on in hopes of this better future that will never come. But rather then addressing the work we each need to do for ourselves and keeping the focus on that, you’ll spend time arguing the points I’ve made here and justify doing this, that, and the other. I’m not interested in arguing because the facts are the facts and I’ll just continue to point those out. I’ll leave it to people to discern for themselves if this is the reality in which they find themselves.
