Open Letter To Starbucks On Coffee Grinding Policy
On August 12th, I wrote a letter concerning Starbucks coffee grinding policy. Baristas in my neighborhood stores told me there was a policy pertaining to grinding non-Starbucks branded coffee. Enclosed is the communication thus far and my original letter. After receiving the responses, I was left wanting. I want it to get into the hands of those whom craft policy. Thus far, it has not gotten the amplification I intended. First line customer service representatives, bless their hearts, don’t make decisions on matters like these.

What Is Direction Of Starbucks?
Starbucks coffee grinding policy started the question. However, it begs a bigger question on the direction Starbucks is taking for customers like me who want food and beverages that are organic and sustainable. Hmm? I’m going to keep pushing this up the chain until I get an executive level answer. That which will help me decide do I want to be loyal to Starbucks as customer and shareholder. Or do I liquidate my shares of Starbucks(SBUX) and establish a position in Costco(COST). Costco was where I bought the Cameron’s Organic Dark Roast coffee. Then, I will either buy my own grinder or take to Whole Foods(AMZN), another store I spend my money in and I am a shareholder of, my non-Starbucks branded organic coffee and make my Starbucks experience be entirely at home. Why go into a Starbucks?
In Closing
Don’t get me wrong, I like Starbucks and I hope their roadmap are converging in high quality food and beverage and policy where my needs and values lie as a customer and shareholder. However, when and if they don’t I can vote with my dollars. Let’s see! I’ll continue adding to this post as more information is communicated.
